My Nan has asked me to look for some knitting patterns for her, but I dont really know what I am looking for.

It is for premature babies clothes. I need to look for 4-ply wool, size 10 needles

Ideally Id like PDFs.

Does anyone have any or know a good resource to print PDFs nice and clearly?

I’m wanting to crochet some clothing and diaper covers (shes going to use cloth diapers) for my relatives baby that will be due close to summer. I’m looking for a nice baby yarn that has a purple/lavender color option she asked if I could make her something that had a purple in it (if not something that is not blue or pink but has options for neutral colors). They live in the south so its warm most of the time I need a yarn that would be nice for warm weather (late spring/summer).

You can use a lightweight acrylic or cotton for baby tops. Lion Brand "Lion Cotton," Lion Brand "Organic Cotton," Lion Brand "Cotton Ease," Hobby Lobby’s "I Love This Cotton," Bernat "Baby Cakes," and Bernat "Cottontots" are all worsted-weight cotton or cotton/acrylic yarns that are widely available. Acrylic-blend yarns might work better in the South if the patterns are sleeveless and airy.

For sport-weight cotton, you might want to try Knit Picks’ "Comfy Sport Yarn" or "Shine Sport Yarn." See this page: http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/Cotton_Knitting_Yarn__L30010204.html . For DK weight, which might work with patterns calling for sport-weight yarn if you use the pattern one size smaller than you need, try Lion Brand "Cotton Bamboo." P.S. I live in the "humid sub-tropical" area of the South. Most people here have air conditioning, so babies wear lightweight onesies and tops indoors. Small babies might lie in the shade in just a diaper and need a shirt or top (along with their sunscreen) if they’re in the sun. Any of the above patterns could be made with cotton, cotton blends, or sport-weight acrylic yarn and be appropriate here.

does anyone know of a good online free website that gives easy knitting patterns for baby clothes please my knitting is fairly good but dont want to get half way through a project and then not be able to complete it so want to keep it simple thanks have a good day

my baby had her 2 month checkup and she is in the 95th percentile weight range for her age. (she weighs just over 12 lbs and fits into 3-6 month old clothes) she has slept through the night since she was born. do most bigger babies have an easier time sleeping through the night or is it just a coincidence?

It’s probably a coincidence. She is most likely just a really good baby and you should consider yourself lucky. Also, don’t worry about her being in clothes for the next size up-that is common with many children.

She may grow a little more than other babies, though, because they only grow when they sleep and it seems as if she is getting more rest than many other’s people’s kids. Thiss would not, however, cause a signifcant difference.
