When is it alright to start buying baby clothes?

Many women will wait until after the first trimester, or the beginning of the fifth month when they find out the gender. It’s really up to you.

I suggest waiting until after your baby shower because people love to buy baby clothes as gifts.

Whenever you want to. I bought a couple of sleepers when I first found out. However, it will have to be in mostly greens and yellows until you find out the gender of the baby(if you are going to).

I would wait until after the first trimester. That is the most "dangerous" time in regards to miscarriage. Also, you will probably have a sonogram by the end of this trimester which would indicate any major issues.

But I am going to wait a month or two later to really start looking for cribs,& all that good stuff just because you want to make sure the baby will be fine,& can tell what your having. Hope this helps..

it depends with yur planning.if yu have resources set for the day yu can do it as near as 3-4 weeks so that packing can be done.if yu have limited resources do it as early as possible.but beddings can be any time.the two of my kinds i always did it 2-4 weeks before the day.

I bought so many baby clothes that my son never wore! They were so cute I went crazy, but he wore onesies so much that I never put him in a lot of other things.

Things I hated dressing my baby in that no one warned me about: bib overalls…they always bunched up and were a pain to keep looking nice; anything that doesn’t have crotch snaps…these are a total pain until your baby is out of diapers; anything with buttons…tiny buttons are such a pain to do; anything with buttons or snaps in the back…buttons are worse offenders than snaps, but make dressing so hard.

The honest truth is, most babies only need onesies and sleepers for the first few months.

i started buying a couple of items in my first trimester but believe me, you get very tired of constantly seeing yellow and green! I waited until 5 months for the majority of shopping because by then i knew i was having a boy.

If you know the sex then buy a few things, but remember that babies come in different sizes. My son has a ton of stuff that he couldn’t wear from the jump b/c he was so big. Some people bought clothes for me, but they were out of season for his size. You never know how fast they are gonna grow.
I suggest that you buy bath towels, wash cloths, diapers, wipes, blankets and spit up rags (I use cloth diapers for this). I would purchase the outfit you want his hospital pictures taken in, about 4 gowns, a pack of onesies, socks ( the kind that will come up to the knee, so he doesn’t kick them off) and a hat. Wait for the rest and you’ll have what you need.

I started as soon as I found out I was pg. Don’t over do it though, people LOVE to buy baby outfits, so chances are that, by the time your baby is born is gonna have so much clothes he won’t even be able to wear them all.
