I am 12 weeks pregnant now, have had 1 m/c, so a little scared to rush, but I cannot wait to buy furniture to set up the room, start buying baby clothes….
Thanks in advance!
its completely up to you i was on the internet buying small things like photo albums, to keep memories/photos of my hubby and I during pregnancy and birth , throw rugs and sheets, i am 21wks now and STILL have not bought myself to buying baby clothes, i think its useless at this stage.. i have bought things like a porta cot and pram tho last week and slowly starting to get everything else together.
its when you feel your ready but i really wouldnt worry at least until you start to show or half way, just incase!
lots of luv and best wishes to you and baby
goodluck

I waited until I was about 6 months into the pregnancy before I started to buy anything. Mind you I was 13weeks before I even found out I was pregnant so it didn’t seem that I had to wait very long.

I’m a last minute kind of girl…so I would wait until I knew the sex of the baby, so I could prepare. I would say once you hit the 5 month mark of your pregnancy, you’re good to go.

I started getting stuff around 12 weeks. I got if gradually throughout my pregnancy so I didn’t see the expense of buying in bulk. I really enjoyed my weekly little spends, it’s the exciting part!!

well, i wait until i have my ultrascan at 5 mths to confirmed whether girl or boy before buying for the clothes.
As for the furniture, luckly i got one of the baby cot and have it set up before i was sent to the hospital one mth ahead of the due date.
As for the milk powder, i just got my husband to buy it from the supermarket before going home from the hospital with the baby.
So because the baby came earlier by 1 mth, we were caught quite unawares, most of the things were not ready especially the milk bottles, nipples, nappies and most of all, the clothes. They were not even washed yet.
So you can imagine how we were so …….. . Luckily , my mum stayed and helped us to tide over the first few days.

I think you should wait a few more weeks, but its up to you.
You will start showing soon and feel more comfortable with the pregnancy. Also, seeing a heartbeat on the ultrasound after 12 weeks puts you into a much safer zone–so if you’ve seen it already, you are in better shape then if not.
You will also feel even more comfortable after the 20 week ultrasound.
You can start doing research and looking for bargains now.
We bought our first items (used)when I was 5/6 months pregnant. And didn’t order the big items till I was in my 8th month. We only had the new stuff delivered after the baby arrived.

3-4 months before the birth is a good time to start buying things.

When there is money in the bank that can be withdrawn for such a purpose! It’s best to spread it out financially, and you really have to shop while you are capable. You never know how you’re going to feel later on. If you want to shop, go and have fun

I bought most things after my baby was born and I knew what I needed/what suited her.
I had a late m/c at 15 weeks, so I guess I’d wait a little. I don’t want to dampen your spirits though, it’s quite rare into the second trimester.
Congratulations and enjoy buying!

Go ahead and buy clothing now, but make sure you know you will try again if you m/s again (Sorry, I really didn’t want to bring this up, but it is kind of important).
Wait for the furniture until you are further along, say another month, this gives you lots of time still to set everything and paint. Right now choose what you’d like.
Buying furniture and then m/c again would be horrible, as everytime you see the furniture you are filled with grife instead of joy. I really hope you don’t m/c again, and you are already passed 12 weeks, but better safe than sorry. Also, selling an un-used furniture set can be hard, as parents often want to know why it wasn’t used and telling them you m/c might cause some people to not want the set….strange but true.
I am not pregnant and already have a onesies, so go ahead and start clothing shopping and PLANNING the nursery now!
Have a blast. – ooooh, and do get most of the shopping done in the 2nd trimester when it is easiest for you to move around and you have the most energy!

for furniture, it really depends on what you are getting. My furniture for my daughter’s room took 10 weeks to come in, glad I ordered it well in advance!
I would wait a couple more weeks and then starting seriously looking for furniture.
Good luck!

I was 6 months pregnant when I bought the furniture for baby’s room. I was buying clothes from 4 months onwards.
Every person is different.
