I realize that you are excited. However, it really is best to wait to buy these things. You should save this fun for when you are pregnant. If it takes a while to conceive, it is going to be upsetting for you to have these items in your house. It is also best to wait until after your first trimester when you are pregnant, to start buying things. After the first trimester, the rate of miscarriage decreases. People don’t really talk about it but miscarriages are very common. Regardless of how common they are, it is extremely upsetting to have a miscarriage. Having lots of baby things around would just make you feel worse. This is why baby showers do not take place until the last two months of pregnancy. This is also why in the Jewish culture, there is no baby shower or baby gifts until after the baby is born.

Save your buying and the joy of preparing for a baby when you are definitely having one. You can look at things and dream about the future. Just wait until its a reality before you start acting. You will protect yourself this way just in case things don’t go perfect.

  1. It’s hormones but I do think you are becoming a bit obsessive. Stop, don’t you want to enjoy these things genuinely once you have conceived?…save these pleasures for later. Pre-empting is not a positive thing in this context….you will conceive but it might take a while. Please accept that and concentrate on other more productive things…

  2. dont feel bad we are ttc and i think we have are hopes way too high. i went out and got everything crib, cars, tub, bottles, swing, stoller etc.. I dont see any reason for you not to buy these things but something like clothes you may want to hold off on until you know what you are having. but the things i got would go for a boy or girl. dont worry your not crazy. good luck!!!

  4. it is your way to say you are ready to be a mom, don’t be scared to shop around, nothing bad with that, and it is truth to be prepared, baby stuff are expensive, and it is a good way to start slowly to get things, this doesnt mean that you are going to get everything at once, means that you are thinking about your future, i would recommend, start looking ovulation kits, try that, start taking vitamins and folic acid, like materna.
that’s another way to show how much you want a baby, relax, every will come, when your body is ready, read articles about conceiving a baby, do exercise, all this thinking about that baby you want to have =0 ) BABY DUST FOR YOU !

and yes miscarriages can happen, but if that happen those baby clothes and things you bought will give you the hope and courage to keep going, confident that one day you will have one baby, I am talking by experience =)

  5. Its normal. Well ive been wanting to buy baby clothes as well but some people tell me its bad luck. Wait until you are actually pregnant. At least a month pregnant… because you never know how much it’ll take you and youre spending money on that. But really, I hope you get pregnant very soon!!!!!!!
