My girlfriend is 12 weeks pregnant, is it too soon to start buying clothes and stuff? We bought a few Onesies and Recieving blankets… Is this too soon?
neutral onesies and receiving blankets are fine. I would start with the big stuff for the nursery first like crib etc. that way one you have the energy to actually get it ready. I think except for clothes i had every thing ready before i was even 20 wks. (didn’t buy everything but was registered at all the places i wanted stuff from.)
Buying baby clothes?

It’s a good time to buy baby clothes because garage sale season is starting up. You can find some great clothes at garage sales for babies. Alot of it hardly worn at all. They grow so fast that they don’t get to wear things for very long.

No, it is exciting when you find out you are having a baby. Just don’t go overboard with it! You never know what you are having until about 20 weeks. Plus, someone will probably throw her a baby shower! Lots of Luck and Congrats!

Yeah, it’s too soon, but lots of folks buy at least a few things too early.

I wouldn’t go out and buy everything. Why not start with stuff for the nursery like the crib and stuff

Of corse not! Having a baby is exciting and its normal to want to buy all this stuff. The only issue you may run into, is what color to buy, since you don’t know the sex of the baby yet. Just stick with white, yellow, pale greens, ect. and you will be fine. The first day I found out I was pregnant, I went shopping!! It’s never too soon! And its great to start preparing early, so then you don’t have to buy everything in the last couple months. Congratulations to you all!

it’s not too soon to buy a few things, but it is easier to wait until she’s further along so you can find out the sex of the baby. they really don’t make enough unisex clothes, and so you may buy the wrong things if not careful.
it is not too soon, however, for her to buy a few maternity clothes. those are fun to shop for too. or to start looking at nursery furniture.

yea, because later on, you will want to buy more stuff, then more and more and more. befor you know it you will have bought so much baby cloaths, and they will probably only be worn for a few weeks, befor they dont fit!

It’s never too soon for the basics like onesies, sleepers in neutral colors, socks(dryers eat baby socks!), receiving blankets, wipes, and diapers diapers diapers! You are a great friend-have fun!

I wish your g/f a blessed and healthy pregnancy. And I pray for you the father to have strength, patience, and wisdom to help her during this wondrous, but trying time.
Most baby showers are given a month or two before the due date. I would wait till the baby shower b/c you may be able to get what you need then and what you don’t get, then you can buy.
God bless you all!

To me it is never too early to start preparing for the new addition. It’s Ok to get a few things here and there that’s part of the excitement of antcipating the baby.

My husband and I both have 11 year old boys and we have one on the way. When I had my son not only did I think he was a girl, but we bought so many things that we never even used. here is a site to go on where the community gives back t the people. http://www.freecycle.org check it out I have received all my baby items off this site.

They say to wait 3 months. So it’s ok to start buying. I’m gonna tell you something, being a woman, it is really hard not to buy all the cute little things a baby needs and the stuff they don’t need you just want them to have. Warning!! Don’t buy too many clothes in one size, cause they won’t wear them all. Not to mention all the stuff you ‘ll get from showers. Congrats!!

im 21 weeks and i just started. its my first child and was paranoid about buying too much since we are on a budget. so im taking it slow but if there is a good buy, a sale, or something i HAVE to get, i go ahead and buy it. but i think its up to you, if you have the $$$, what harm can it do?
you are almost out of the danger zone as far as a miscarriage (13 weeks) so its not too early. some ppl start the day they find out they are preg.!
