I am related to someone (not by blood) who dresses her toddler up in stuff like Tommy, Gap, Abercrombie, and expensive mall brands, ect. She is young — 20 yrs old. I believe that she doesn’t have the money to be spending it on expensive clothes. When they are babies– why give them brand names– i do know that when your a teenager you want the brand names so why not buy it for them when they are teens? Also, she shows it off like she is so proud of it like she is made of money. I know she is not. My daughter is still an infant and of course I have splurged on baby gear but not on clothes that will be drooled on and stained, also I have been given some used clothes too. Does anyone else here agree?

leave her alone she can dress her baby how she likes. but i do agree with you really…nobody cares what a baby is wearing, they just look at their cute faces!

I live in a very rural area and the nearest retailers (that I have to basically drive an hour to get to) are Walmart, Kmart, Target, JC Penney, and Sears…(Yeah, I know. Where I live sucks. Would love for my husband to get transferred, but ah, well..)
Anyway, I have 3 boys and they are so totally not into cartoon character clothes or preppy little khaki and polo shirt ensembles. I am looking for some retailers that carry nice worn jeans, preferably with a few rips and T shirts advertising bands or at least guitars. I have a 6 year old, a 4 year old, and a 2 year old. I am mostly looking for things for the 6 year old, so size 6. Every time I try to google "cool boy clothes" or anything like that, it basically brings up baby clothes.
So, if anyone can suggest some stores that I can check out some trendy clothes online, I would be very thankful.

hottopic.com (band tee and skinny jean heaven :)
ipso-facto.com (maybe too big for your kids but … :)
sears.com (really good for classic album shirts like metallica’s Master Of Puppets and many guitar shirts)
target.com
Amazon.com
Spencers.com ( I am suggesting for the band tees NOT for the bad stuff! )
thats mostly where I shop
Try Goodwill and Value Village too :)
Majic Mart is also pretty decent i think :)

My baby is only 7 months old but I already have bought TONS of clothes for her all the way up to 4T. By tons I mean over 200 (maybe more) items that she can’t even wear yet. I try to get items that won’t really go out of style. It just hit me today that I don’t have anymore space in her closet to put all these clothes. I was actually kinda shocked at how much clothing I had bought. It’s not causing us to have any money problems or anything. But I can’t seem to stop buying baby/toddler stuff. Is this a real problem for other people?

I’m in the same boat… sort of. My daughter is 8 months old and I have bought tons of clothes. I have bags of clothing up till 2 years (well, only one bag of 2T, but all the sizes before that fill up their own bags). Whenever my husband and I go shopping, he tries to pull me away from the baby clothing. Hehe.
